Our Ethos and Values
As an organisation, Mission Care has three charitable objectives:
- To relieve poverty
- To relieve sickness
- To advance the Christian Faith
Our Ethos
The
Christian Ethos of Mission Care, which is a practical outworking of our
Basis of Faith guides every aspect of the organisation, the manner in which we operate, and the care that we deliver in our
care homes.
Our ethos springs from a desire and motivation to show the love of Jesus to everybody who is served by the work of
Mission Care and to all of those who we care for in our nursing and residential
care homes.
Our Values
The motivating value that continue to drive the work of
Mission Care is the love of Jesus shown to mankind which compels His followers to love others (2 Corinthians 5:14).
This Christian attitude of love is characterised by the following attitudes and behaviours of the
care homes and residential homes:
|
Individuality |
seeing the whole person as an individual made "in the image of God" |
|
Inclusivity |
facilitating a sense of belonging to the corporate whole |
|
Interdependence |
understanding the role of self and others in the overall whole |
|
Integrity |
the organisation and the individual being true to their values |
At Mission Care, we believe that the attitudes and values of our staff members and the ways in which we work are as important as the work itself. We encourage diversity amongst our staff, residents and volunteers and will never unlawfully discriminate on grounds unrelated to our ethos.
Our management and leadership team positions carry a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be a Christian. This is because a Christian faith is central to the fulfilment of our objectives and to maintaining the Christian ethos of Mission Care’s nursing and residential care homes.
