Greenhill Summer party

The residents and staff of Greenhill nursing home warmly invite all of their supporters, families and friends to their summer party on Saturday 31st July.

The day is scheduled to include lots of entertainments and activities that should be enjoyed by all attendees, to include a presentation from Jambs Owls, which will include the opportunity to stroke the beautiful birds.

A range of stalls and a raffle will also keep our guests entertained and a tasty barbeque lunch will be available from midday.

Willett House hit the coast

The residents and friends of Willett House are looking forward to a trip to Brighton on Monday 26th July. The specific itinerary is undecided at present, but be assured that the day is likely to include some beautiful scenery, fresh sea air, a stroll along the promenade and a proper fish and chip supper.

Willett House summer show

Following our successful Easter show, which featured lots of songs, performances, poetry and wonderful costumes, we are looking forward to welcoming AIM Productions back to Willett House in July.

This is a wonderful reminiscence activity for our residents, and they enjoy being able to join in song with the performers

Residents set to benefit from new reminiscence programme

Morton House has been selected as one of fourteen care homes to benefit from funding awarded to Age Exchange that will enable reminiscence projects to run over the next two years.

Age Exchange is a national charity, based in nearby Blackheath, that works with older people to improve their quality of life with reminiscence.

The project at Morton House will be led by two professional reminiscence worked from Age Exchange and run for a total of eight weeks. Residents will be able to explore reminiscence themes with the aid of period artefacts, music, archive sound and film and other sensory stimuli.

Morton House cream teas

A grand cream tea will be held at Morton House from 2pm on Saturday 17th July. 

All of our relatives, friends and supporters are warmly invited to join our residents and staff to enjoy a delicious range of cakes, buns and strawberries and cream in the Morton House gardens.

Small contributions to cover the cost of this event would be greatly appreciated.

Saturday swing at Elmwood

The relatives, friends and supporters of Elmwood nursing home, Bickley, are warmly invited to join residents and staff for an afternoon of swing on Saturday 17th July.

Mark Sedgwick will perform a range of popular swing songs from 2pm in Elmwood’s gardens.

Bishop Justus visit Homefield

The Bishop Jusus School Girls’ Choir will perform for residents at Homefield on the afternoon of Tuesday 13th, July.

Their performance will start at 2.30pm and the girls will sing a selection of war-time era songs, including ‘Bye Bye Blackbird’ and ‘it’s a long way to Tipperary’ before joining our residents for refreshments. The choir visited Greenhill nursing home earlier in the year and were accompanied by our residents as they performed some of their songs. Kerry Atchison who is the Music Coordinator at the school explained, that the girls ‘are really looking forward to performing for the residents at Homefield and to chatting with them afterwards’.

Elmwood’s Garden Party

This year’s Garden Party is set to be bigger and better than ever, providing a wonderful afternoon for our residents and their families and friends, and a significant contribution to the Elmwood activities fund (last year’s event raised more than £2,000!)

Set within Elmwood’s beautiful gardens, this year’s event will play host to the Parkwood Hall School Steel Band and a Scottish dancing performance, plus the opportunity to get up close to some beautiful owls, as well as two performances from our singer.  A barbeque, cream teas and ice cream will be available and Pimms and lemonade will be on tap for 18+ guests. 

Our younger visitors will be kept entertained by a huge range of stalls and activities including, tombola’s, cakes and sweets stalls, a bouncy castle, skittles, boules and pottery painting.  For those feeling weary after an afternoon full of so much activity, massages will be available.

We look forward to welcoming all of our supporters, relatives and friends, this event is open to all who wish to attend!

Morton House residents perform at the Southbank

The six week collaborative project between Morton House and Baring School, facilitated by Entyloch Arts will close in grand style as the group perform their dance project at The Clore Ballroom in The Royal Festival Hall on London’s Southbank.

’Dancing stAGE’ is a free performance that brings together older people and dancing companies from across London and will culminate in the intergenerational performance from our residents and the students of Baring School.

Morton House Barbeque

All of our supporters, relatives and friends are warmly invited to join the residents and staff of Morton House at their annual Summer Barbeque, on the afternoon of Sunday 4th July.

Last year’s event was a wonderful afternoon, with plenty of laughter as residents, staff, relatives and friends were able to relax together over some wonderful food.  Contributions towards the cost and donations made on the day also provide much appreciated income for the activities provision at Morton House.

We look forward to welcoming all of our friends, relatives and supporters to Morton House on the 4th July, and are crossing our fingers for good weather!

Bromley High visit Elmwood

Staff and residents at Elmwood are looking forward to welcoming back students from Bromley High School. The girls will be singing in the ground floor lounge from 4pm.  All of our friends, relatives and supporters are warmly invited to join our residents for this performance.
