Cheese, wine and wisdom!
Residents, friends and family are invited to join us as we host a cheese, wine and wisdom night at Greenhill nursing home on Thursday 19th September.
There will be a selection of five cheese’s to choose from as well as some wines to be sampled all whilst enjoying a challenging quiz. If you are up for the challenge be sure to join us!

Is that ’The Sound of Music’?
Tricia Court will be returning to Elmwood on Thursday 29th September as she performs her ’The Sound of Music’ act.

Residents to visit Old Navy Dockyard
On Thursday 29th September a group of residents will be visiting old Navy town Chatham as they spend the day looking around the old The Historic Dockyard.
We are hoping for the predicted weather to stay pleseant as there will be plenty to see and do.

Residents to explore all things British!
A small group of residents from Love Walk shall be attending an exciting trip to the British Museum on Thursday 29th September.
There are lots to see and do there with the Museum boasting a huge collection of historic items in a number of themed rooms including Samurai Armour and Lewis Chessman’s most famous chess set!
A selection of exhibitions will also be running when they visit.

Love Walk to head back with the Imperial War Museum
Residents from Love Walk shall be heading back into time as they visit the Imperial War Museum on Thursday 29th September. The museum shall be holding a number of exhibitions and showcases from the ‘Women War Artists’ and also showcasing a selection of some classic war stories.

Caledonian dancers to entertain residents
Residents at Elmwood will be welcoming a group of delightful Caledonian Scottish dancers on Wednesday 28th September.
The energetic group, along with the complete Scottish attire, will put on a performance for our residents to enjoy and tap their feet along to. The show will begin at 3pm in the ground floor lounge.

’Wickham’s Wandering Old Tyme Stagers’ to perform
Residents from Willett House have been invited to attend a show held at Beaverwood School to watch ‘Strictly Music Hall’ on Saturday 24th September.
The ‘Wickham Wandering Old Tyme Stagers’ who shall be performing, are a theatrical group whose talents lie with ‘traditional and old fashioned’ entertainment. The group shall surely have our residents singing along to all the classics!

Love Walk to listen to the Symphonic sounds at Ruskin Park
Residents from Love Walk, Denmark Hill shall be embarking to Ruskin Park to watch the last of the summer concerts held for 2011 on Saturday 24th September.
The Symphonic Orchestra of North London shall be performing at the park, where our residents at Love Walk have not yet missed a performance all summer!

Old time song classics at Greenhill
Residents at Greenhill, Bromley will be looking forward to a performance from Adrian Chapman on Tuesday 20th September.

Weekly trip to South Bank for Love Walk residents
A week wouldn’t be complete for our residents with out a trip to South Bank.
This week we shall be visiting the London African Music Festival otherwise known as ’Les Espoirs Du Mali’ where Mali’s master drummer will be showcasing Malian music.

Greenhill to board Kent and East Sussex Railway
Residents from both Greenhill and Willett House will be taking a nostalgic steam train journey trip as they board the Kent and East Sussex Railway on Thursday 15th September.
The train which travels through from Tenterden and ends in Bodiam will take our residents on a journey throughout the beautiful countryside and they will also get to visit the Colonel Stephans Railway Museum next Tenterden railway station.

Willett House to board the Kent and East Sussex Railway
Residents from both Greenhill and Willett House will be taking a nostalgic steam train journey trip as they board the Kent and East Sussex Railway on Thursday 15th September.

’The Rat Pack is Back!’ for Love Walk residents
On Wednesday 14th September a group of residents from Love Walk will be attending the Broadway Theatre in Catford to watch the fantastic ’The Rat Pack is Back’ performance.

Residents visit ’The Garden Room’
Residents from Willett House are to visit Age Concern Bromley’s The Garden Room Dementia Cafe in Chislehurst on Tuesday 13th September.
The Garden Room is a popular choice of afternoon outing for our residents and their families. They can get involved in an array of activities taking place or just simply enjoy a nice cup of tea and a chat with their loved ones.
It also provides an opportunity for our residents to interact with others living with dementia as well as a chance for families, cares to access a wide range of information.

Love Walkers to participate in Mooncake Festival
Residents are invited to spend a day celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, otherwise known as Mooncake Festival, at London’s hot spot, Chinatown.
Chinatown will be brightly decorated with festive lanterns and bunting, there will be Chinese dragon dances to enjoy as well as other traditional Chinese festivities taking place.
We are hoping that the weather holds out so we can enjoy a fun filled day in Chinatown, be sure to join us!

Lambeth Wind Orchestra perform
Residents from Love Walk, Denmark Hill will be embarking on a trip to Ruskin Park to watch the fantastic ‘Lambeth Wind Orchestra’ on Saturday 10th September.
The 40 man band are based in Herne Hill and perform a variety of musical pieces by composers such as Percy Grainger and Gustav Holst. Our residents will be able to experience first hand the powerful yet classical soft sounds of this amazing musical group.

Shopping trip to the Glades
A group of residents, accompanied by Jimmy, our activities coordinator, can enjoy a trip to the Glades, a popular shopping precinct in Bromley on Friday 9th September.
There are many shops to look at inside and out on the highstreet as well as a choice of coffee shops we can take the delight of sitting in watching the world go by once we have made our purchases.

Jonathan Crisp’s solo ’sole’ of England cycle
Our Executive Director, Jonathan Crisp, will cycle 465 miles across the ’sole’ of England from Land’s End in South West Cornwall to Deal on the Kent coast between the 5th and 10th September.
Jonathan will complete this mammoth solo cycle ride to raise funds for Mission Care in support of our work with the Vuyroli project in Chennai, India.
Vuyroli is a care home and rescue centre for the destitute and the elderly in Chennai, India, the Christian ethos and the centre’s mission clearly complements our own work in South East London. To learn more about Mission Care’s support of the project click here.

On Saturday 3rd September a group of residents from Love Walk are invited to join as we enjoy some special talent at Londons popular area, South Bank.
All are invited to be a part of the London Disability Arts Festival, Liberty.
There will be lots see and do as we admire the new talent from Deaf and Disabled artists with music and cabaret, outdoor arts and dance, and fun for everyone who attends.

Sounds of classical melodies
We are delighted to welcome Fumi to Elmwood who will be performing a selection of classical songs for us on Thursday 1st September.
