An afternoon of song at Homefield

Our residents at Homefield enjoyed a wonderful afternoon on Tuesday 13th July, with students from Bishop Justus School, Magpie Hall Lane.
The Girls’ Choir performed a range of old wartime classics, interspersed with one or two more contemporary songs, before joining our residents for tea and cake.
Students enjoyed learning more about the memories and experiences of our residents that were remembered as the group sang along to songs like ’Bye bye Blackbird’ and ’We’ll meet again’.
The girls performed a short encore after refreshments before heading back to school. Frieda, one of our residents explained that the girls performance had ’brought back so many memories. It was a wonderful afternoon - all we need now is some dancing.’
