Residents benefit from new lounge

Residents and staff at Homefield nursing home, Bickley, are enjoying a new lounge and sitting room on the first floor that was opened on Monday 16th August.

The home was reregistered with the Care Quality Commission earlier this year, to provide care to 42, rather than 44 older people living with dementia, so that two bedrooms could be converted to provide additional living space.

The project was designed to further improve the quality of the home's internal environment for residents and staff alike, and completed by an external building firm and Mission Care's own small works team.

The new lounge includes comfortable seating for up to ten residents and a small kitchenette area and complements existing communal spaces at Homefield which includes a large lounge with conservatory and large dining room on the ground floor and an additional smaller lounge on the second floor.
