All aboard at Homefield

A full size bus stop, donated to Mission Care by Transport for London, has been installed in the gardens of Homefield nursing home, Bickley.
Inspired by simillar projects in Germany that were reported in The Telegraph newspaper, it is hoped that the bus stop will serve as a strong reminiscence point for residents and for those older people who are anxious and attempt to return to their previous homes. Kate Falana, Registered Manager (pictured with a resident) remarked that, 'the bus stop has already proved a great success' explaining, 'it is a real point of conversation and has served as a comfort to our residents living with dementia who are happy to sit at the bus stop with carers, reminscing about the journeys that they used to make or to plan a route into Bromley.
