Baking morning at Homefield

Residents at Homefield enjoyed a morning of baking on Wednesday 10th August, in a session led by activities coordinator, Sue Collins. Sue was joined by five of our residents and Howard, Homefield's chef.

Baking activities are always popular at Homefield, not least because our residents are able to enjoy the results with their afternoon teas and coffees, but because the process often evokes lots of memories for our residents living with dementia, who reminisce about baking cakes for their families when they were younger.

On this occasion, Howard prepared all of the separate ingredients in advance, and our residents enjoyed cracking the eggs on the side of a mixing bowl and combining the ingredients for the fairy cakes together, before spooning them into individual cake cases.
