Residents from Love Walk residential care home, Denmark Hill visited Southwark’s Cuming Museum on the Walworth Road on Tuesday September 28th.
Darren Gould, Senior Care Officer, who accompanied the trip explained, ’we had a fantastic time in Walworth - we rifled through the eclectic collection of artefacts on display in Henry Cuming’s famous collection and researched historical Southwark before looking at the weird and wonderful art of a famous Southwark resident, Austin Osman Spare.’
Referring to Love Walk residents, David and Jose, who dressed up in some of the costumes that are available to try on in one of the museum’s permanent exhibitions, Darrens adds, ’oh – and we came across a pearly king and a 16th century scribe - which was something of a surprise!’
