Reminiscence pod at Greenhill

Date posted: April 14th, 2011 | Tags: Greenhill, reminiscence, activities

Residents at Greenhill care home, Bromley, were transported back to a different era on Thursday 14th April, when they were able to experience time in a 1950s themed 'Reminiscence-pod'.

The pop-up room setting is designed to create a calming and therapeutic environment for reminiscence and includes a restored 1950s television and wireless.

Our residents had a wonderful day, taking turns to watch a film in the lounge or to read a paper at the melamine dining table.  Feedback was very positive, with the exception of one of our residents, May, who had a lovely day but exclaimed that the wallpaper in the 1950s room wasn't very nice and that she would never have anything like it in her home!

The reminiscence pod will be at Willett House, Chislehurst on Friday 15th April.
