Dementia Awareness week took place between Sunday 3
rd July and Saturday 9
th July. The annual campaign led by the
Alzheimer’s Society, was marked by all our Mission Care homes in order to acknowledge this special campaign.
’Remember the person’ for
Dementia Awareness Week seeks to encourage ’
people to look beyond Dementia and to understand everyone living with Dementia is still an individual.’
Residents at Elmwood, Bickley held a quiz in their coffee shop along with residents from Greenhill. Our residents also wrote letters to their loved ones and played games that stimulated all their memories.
Also to mark the campaign a group of residents from Homefield baked a delicious cake, where residents and relatives enjoyed afternoon tea, listening to old time favourites and ended the afternoon off with the classic game ’Pass The Parcel’.
