EASTER CELEBRATION AT MISSION CAFE

09 April 2018

We were delighted to welcome residents, relatives and friends to our annual Easter Service on Thursday, 29th March. The service was held at Mission Cafe and it was great opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate.

The service included a welcome and opening prayer from Jonathan Garden, Mission Care’s Pastoral Officer as well as a reading by Fay Oxborrow, Pastoral Director. Fay commented: "It was good to have time to reflect on the meaning of Easter with everybody who attended and also celebrate God's love to us, so vividly displayed through Jesus. Thank you to everyone who was involved!"

We also had a special guest speaker, Andrew Latimer, minister at Grace Church Greenwich, who talked about Jesus Christ and noted: “Many situations in our life cause us to ask ‘Will evil win in the end?’ This is why the resurrection of Jesus is such good news because it is the true pivot to human history and ensures that a real and happy ending will happen. It is this hope which is the driving force behind so much of the service at Mission Care, and it is this hope which it seeks to witness to.”

After the service, residents and guests enjoyed refreshments and traditional Easter sweet treats. One of our residents commented, “The service was a wonderful experience. It has given me peace of mind.”
