With familiar songs playing on the old time radio, murals painted on the walls and a variety of books and newspapers dotted around the hallways, staff at Willett House have always worked hard to create a comfortable and stimulating environment for our residents to live in.
“Everybody at Willett House contributes to running the home, with our residents’ wellbeing and comfort always being front of mind. Each wing at Willett House has dedicated carers allowing our residents to build rapport with those caring for them on a daily basis. It also offers familiarity and stability, which is incredibly important for those living with dementia” Marie Roe, Clinical Lead.
The layout of the two-storey building has been specially designed to serve the unique needs of our residents. It has four small wings, each with their own lounge, dining area, accessible bathrooms, nursing office and kitchenette. In addition, a large activities room is located on the ground floor. Residents have their own bedroom and en-suite facilities ensuring privacy. We also provide hairdressing and chiropody services, a salon and treatment room, regular GP visits and optical, dental and oral hygiene services.
The sense of wellbeing also reaches outdoors too. With the help of local companies who volunteered their time, Willett House benefits from a sensory garden which features raised flower beds, painted trellises, night time lights and comfortable benches for our residents to enjoy with loved ones whenever they like.
