Coffee and cake at Chartwell House

Residents from Willett House spent an enjoyable morning at Chartwell House, the family home of wartime Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill on Friday 13th August.

The National Trust owned property is located in Westerham, Kent, an enjoyable drive from Chislehurst, via Biggin Hill airfield and the Hurricane and Spitfire jets that always spark conversation and reminiscence amongst our residents.

On arrival at Chartwell, our residents, accompanied by a volunteer, Registered Manager, Janet Chuttoo and Karla, Willett House's activities coordinator, made their way to the property's coffee shop and each enjoyed a cappuccino and cake or pastry. Though there wasn't time to tour the house on this occassion, it was wonderful to be able to enjoy the property's beautiful rose gardens, grounds and lakes.
