Elmwood has continued working with the National Citizen Service (NCS) this year much to the delight of our residents. NCS is a registered charity with the aim of building a more socially integrated society. Volunteers aged between 15-17 years old engage in various activities with organisations across England and Northern Ireland.

This year, three different teams visited Elmwood during Summer.  The groups visited residents with their mentors and helped with various activities including arts and crafts, crosswords, card games, bingo and sing-a-longs.

One of our residents commented “It was great to meet these youngsters and have a chat with them.  They reminded me of my grandchildren, I really enjoyed their company.”

A big thank you to NCS for their continued support, we look forward to working with them again in 2019!
