ELMWOOD SUMMER BBQ

03 August 2017

Residents and staff at Elmwood were joined by their family and friends recently at the home’s annual Summer party. Decorated in bright colours, the home’s spirit refused to be dampened by the typical British summer weather of rain and grey clouds!

The barbecue featured many favourites such as beef burgers, chicken and hot dogs. There was also plenty of pasta, salads and varieties of sandwiches and cakes on offer. Franz Hepburn provided the entertainment and sang the afternoon away with classic favourites, including opera songs as well as songs from the movie “The Sound of Music”.

One of our relatives commented, “It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and spending quality time together.  The food was superb.  The singer was brilliant too.  My dad loves opera and he was singing along with Franz.”  Elsie, one of our residents, added, “It was a wonderful day, I enjoyed it very much.”

Thanks to everyone’s kind generosity, we raised more than £270, which will benefit residents at the home.
