FANTASTIC TURNOUT AT WILLETT HOUSE SUMMER PARTY
20 July 2017
On Saturday 8th July, Willett House hosted their annual summer party. The perfect weather added to the fantastic atmosphere with over 100 relatives, friends, staff and supporters joining us.
The event raised a grand total of £528.25 to support our activities within the home. There were some wonderful donations from relatives, staff, and suppliers such as GoTec, West Horsley Dairy, Nursing & Hygiene and 3663. “We had so many lovely bits that we were able to make up six hampers - a luxury hamper, men’s hamper, cheese hamper, kitchen set hamper, touch of glass hamper and a pamper hamper as well as having a picnic set, massage voucher, bottles, and chocolates too”, commented Karla Osbourne, Activities Carer.
The music was provided by Sarah Barker, or Miss Vintage, as she is known, who put on a lively performance over 90 minutes. We also had a very special birthday on the same day - Connie Tatt turned 102 and with the help of Miss Vintage, we all sang Happy Birthday.
The kitchen staff and volunteers on the BBQ worked hard to ensure everyone was fed well with burgers, hot dogs, chicken kebabs and prawns to name a few favourites.
We had lots of positive comments from relatives. One of them said, “It was such a great afternoon. The food and entertainment were just perfect. In particular I thought that the entertainer was just perfect - it can't be easy with so many different ages and tastes to cater to.”
Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make the summer party another great success!
