‘OUTSTANDING’ CQC RATING FOR LOVE WALK

23 January 2018

Love Walk was delighted to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following an unannounced inspection on 28th November 2017.

The inspectors looked at five aspects of the home – safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership. The home was rated ‘Outstanding’ in Responsive, while being given a ‘Good’ rating in the other four categories.

The report, published by the CQC on 3rd January, stated “The service was exceptionally responsive to people's needs. People undertook a wide range of creative activities that were culturally and socially appropriate, which greatly enhanced their quality of life.”

The report also praised the fact that “residents received personalised care from staff who understood their needs and the support they required”. It added “People were able to raise concerns about the service. The registered manager actively sought people's views about the service and used their feedback to make the necessary changes.”

We were also delighted to read positive feedback from our relatives. They were quoted saying that “they had observed staff providing resident's care and support in a compassionate and unhurried manner.”

Helen Pheby, Home Manager, commented: “It is an absolute privilege to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission. It is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of staff who deliver such a high standard of person-centred care to our residents. Seeing our residents as individuals is at the heart of everything we aim to achieve. I’m very proud of the staff here, they work really hard and thoroughly deserve this recognition”.
