About Mission Care
Mission Care is a Christian charity with a long history of caring for vulnerable people in South East London.
Established as the Bermondsey Medical Mission in 1904, we have always adapted our charitable activities to best suit changing social needs and to recognise our development, we were renamed ‘Mission Care’ in 1991.
Today we serve over two hundred and fifty residents and their families and friends in our six care homes, located in the London Boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Southwark. All of our homes are committed to delivering a high standard of person centred care that serves our residents’ social, physical, clinical and emotional needs.
We employ four hundred members of staff in a range of nursing, care and support roles. Our support centre based in Bromley provides support services to all of our homes and the group services team maintain our buildings and outdoor spaces. The Mission Care laundry operates seven days a week to launder our residents clothing, linen and staff uniforms. The Mission Care charity shop, Brix, can be found on Chatterton Road, Bromley.
We enjoy positive relationships throughout our local communities with local churches, schools and community groups and the work of our volunteers makes a real difference to life in our care homes.
In celebration of our centenary in 2004, we extended our charitable work and Mission Care projects internationally to complement and advance our work at home, by seeking to serve vulnerable and marginalised people outside of the UK.
Our charitable objectives are to relieve poverty, to relieve sickness and to advance the Christian faith and our Christian ethos guides our continued delivery of an increasingly high standard of person centred care.
